Qatar Airways has announced that they canceled the order for the first Airbus Group SE’s A320neo plane. Qatar Airways as the initial launch customer and the airline was scheduled to receive the first plane of that order last year. On Friday, Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker cited months of delays to the single-aisle plane promised have allowed Qatar Airways to invoke a contractual cancellation clause. Even more troubling, the Doha-based airline who is one of Airbus’s biggest supporter and champion could potentially walk away from more A320neo orders once they have triggered the remaining walkaway clauses.

This announcement was made at the 2016 European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE). Rockwell Collins’s Venue system will also be offered as a retrofit solution through Bombardier Service Centers for in-service Global aircraft models.

The Kyoto Airship interior is available for any customer interested in ordering the Lineage 1000 valued at $55 million dollars by Embraer.
Raytheon has confirmed the sale of 254 missiles worth over $260 million to Qatar’s Armed Forces. It is said by many that Raytheon will be receiving $34.3 million in profit in this sale. This was confirmed by the United States Defense Security Cooperation Agency.

On April 05, 2016 at the annual Sun’n’Fun airshow in Lakeland, FL, Boeing announced the sale of 112 training aircrafts to the University of North Dakota Aerospace Foundation. UND Aerospace Foundation develops and provides aircraft training services to the UND John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences. Piper Aircraft will deliver 112 single-engine Archer TXs and multi-engine Seminoles beginning Q4 of 2016, with a deal estimating at over $40 million.

Airbus, the civil aircraft manufacturer, and Siemens, the largest engineering company in Europe, have recently announced that they will be collaborating in order to create electrically-powered airplanes. Both companies will be teaming up to form a group of 200 engineers who will be focusing on the development of electric propulsion for aircrafts, enabling such aircrafts to carry up to 100 passengers.
